Thanksgiving is the time of year when everyone as a family comes together and gives thanks. Where everyone gets to go to one place and spend time together doing their Thanksgiving traditions. Also, where everyone has a big feast and eats so much Thanksgiving food. At Hillgrove High School many students are incredibly grateful this year for the holiday. Hillgrove junior Noel Kellman says “My favorite part about Thanksgiving is the gathering around with friends and family and the food.” Family is an important part of everyone's lives because family brings people together and supports one another.
This time of the year is also very nostalgic for so many people worldwide. With tons of traditions and spending time together, wonderful memories are created. Hillgrove sophomore Jaylen Julian says, “The most nostalgic thing about Thanksgiving is Reminiscing because you are looking back on the year and remembering what you're grateful for.” The memories of the year can help many people remember why you are thankful and everything you are looking forward to in the future.
For most the best part about Thanksgiving is the food. Every household is different in what they cook on the big day. Noel Kellman says “The turkey is my favorite Thanksgiving food because it is juicy, meaty, and delectable.” While others like turkey some people do not like it at all. Jaylen Julian says, “We do not make turkey, we make ham instead, it is less expensive, and turkey is not good at all.” Another student at Hillgrove High School also agrees. Sophomore Sydney Hillard says, “I normally eat ham because I really do not want to eat all that turkey on Thanksgiving Day”. Everyone has their own preference for their main Thanksgiving dish.
Thanksgiving is the time of year to spend with the people you love. This time of year, is also the time to remember your year and know what you are grateful for. Thanksgiving means a lot to people because it's where people can unite in one area to eat and be grateful.
