Dr. George has been a teacher in CCSD since 2006. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/English from Morgan State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Duke University, an Educational Specialist from Nova Southeastern University, and a Doctorate of Education from Liberty University. As an undergraduate, Dr. George worked as an intern for The Baltimore Sun and served as the Layout and Copy Editor for The Spokesman, her college newspaper, all while trying to maintain her athletic and academic scholarships. As the Journalism teacher here at Hillgrove, Dr. George has now merged her two academic passions (English and Journalism) here at Hillgrove with The Talon

Zoe is a senior in high school who has been attending Hillgrove all four years. She will be attending Georgia College and State University in the fall and majoring in Mass Communications. Zoe has been a part of French Club, Habitat for Humanity, Student Government, and an officer for French Honor Society. She has been with the Talon staff for two years as an editor and also running and designing the website.

Jada is a senior in high school who has been attending Hillgrove all four years. She will be attending Loyola University Chicago in the fall and majoring in neuroscience and pre-pharmacy. Jada has been a part of the state school superintendent student advisory council, Student Government for four years, and a senior class representative. She has been with the Talon staff for two years as a writer and editor and also running and designing the website in her senior year.
Katie is a sophomore at Hillgrove High. Growing up, she played piano, did swimming, and eventually learned how to play the Viola in middle school. Hobbies she'd do would be writing stories, painting, and crafts. So far in high school, she hasn't ended the semester with grades under 70 and will continue to work and keep it that way. Friends would describe her as fun, bubbly, and outgoing.
Janna, an 18 year old Senior maintaining a 3.6 GPA, indulges in Theatre, Newspaper, and Dramatic Writing to expand on her film and writing knowledge. She worked on script writing, stage managing, and wrote articles for her school's newspaper.
After recently moving , Myles has attended Hillgrove high school for 2 years. He has a strong passion for basketball, as he's been playing since he was 6, and is a member of the Hillgrove basketball program. He is a very strong academic student but didn’t think he would enjoy writing as much as he does. One of Myles's favorite hobbies is collecting sneakers.
Arianna Denney is a sophomore at Hillgrove Highschool. She enjoys writing and likes to find many different topics to write about. Arianna takes her education very seriously and thrives to learn more. She spends most of her time traveling, studying, and hanging out with friends.
Isabelle has been in school for 11 years starting from Baker Elementary to Lost Mountain, and now Hillgrove. School has helped her understand what things she wants to do and important skills like time management and organization. She spends her free time writing poetry, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.
Aaliyah, who goes by Lia, moved to Georgia from Miami, Fl the summer of 2021, before starting High school. She has spent her Highschool career building for her for her future. Joining FBLA, and being a Class Rep, she loves to be involved in fun activities. She has always had a passion for writing and mental health as well, and expresses it through her articles.
Gabrielle, also known as Gabby, is a senior that has been here at Hillgrove for 4 years now. She has played basketball for 2 years , and flag football for the other 2 and has been apart of yearbook and now newspaper. She is expected to get a major in sports media and communications with a minor in journalism.
Morgan, a 17 year old junior at Hillgrove Highschool hoping to get a degree as a cinema makeup artist. In National Honors Art Society, journalism, and eventually AP art, Morgan strives to get accepted into CMS in LA, California. The love of music and literature has influenced the way she creates art and writing. Focusing on raw emotion in her work she is determined to impact others.
Jordan is a sophomore at Hillgrove High School and had just moved to Georgia during his freshman year. He spends most of his time on school work and messing with some type of technology in his free time. So far this semester Jordan's grades haven't dropped below 80 and has kept consistent high 90s. Jordan is also a grade ahead in his math course being the only sophomore in his Pre-Calculus class.
Connor is high-school senior, starting his education at Sanders Elementary, to Lovinggood middle, and will graduate from Hillgrove Highschool in May of 2024. He has played soccer since he was 6 but despite his love for the sport he has been largely focused on his academics. He has excelled in his advanced classes while practicing language in his own studies. His passion is exuded in his writing and he plans to become a mental health professional in his future.
Yolanda is a senior attending Hillgrove Highschool since freshmen year. She is heavily involved in several clubs: National Beta Club, Athletic Honors Society, Cards for Compassion, Fellowship Christian Athletes, and Hillgrove Freshmen Mentorship. Furthermore, she leads her cross country team and has participated also on the varsity track and field team throughout all of her high school years. She intends to pursue academic major in journalism/ public relations and athletic career for a division 1 team.
Anthony, a 15 year old sophomore at Hillgrove High School, He has many after school activites like Martial arts which he has been doing since he was three. He is part of many clubs like Beta, Cards for Compassion, FBLA, DECA, HOPE, Sources of strength. He has loved writing from a young age and wrote many essays and articles. He has much knowledge about technology and apple products and services.
Makayla has had a passion for writing since she was 6 years old. She wrote little stories and scenarios often in her free time. She went to school at Still elementary, Lovinggood Middle School and is now attending Hillgrove where she is allowed to express her love for writing properly.
Eva was born in Austell, Georgia where she stayed up until 3rd grade when she moved cobb county area so she could attend Dowell elementary. She has played softball, basketball, volleyball but, never really found her spark. She now plays Flag football which she more dedicated to than ever. In high school she has been doing better grades wise by staying between a high C and low A.
Benny has been a student for 11 years from attending Dowell Elementary to Lovinggood middle to Hillgrove Highschool. He's been playing baseball since around the age of 4 and this his 2nd year playing ball for Hillgrove. Hes also picked up a secondary sport of wrestling. Hes maintained grades above a 79 so far in his career at Hillgrove. Known for being charismatic and adventurous.
Eve Stallings has been a student at Hillgrove for two years now. She has found a love for writing as she continued to write for the "The Talon", Hillgrove's school newspaper, she hopes to continue on this journey. While she finishes out her years at Hillgrove with a 4.0 other activities she takes part in the Hillgrove drama department.
Brittney Young is a junior at Hillgrove High School. She spends most of her time studying, playing softball, and hanging out with her friends and family. Brittney has always been very academically driven and has many academic achievements. She hopes to one day attend college at UNC Chapel Hill.
