What should change at Hillgrove By: Manuel Colorado

Many schools in Cobb County have great ratings, one of the top-rated schools is Hillgrove. While Hillgrove is a good school there is always room for improvement.  Students get time during class to get work done, but sometimes students just need more time. Miranda Martinez, a sophomore at Hillgrove High School states. “Because It could probably help them study more, you know, it could probably help them talk to each other about what they have. Like if they have classes together, they can study together.” Studying can benefit students and help students prepare physically and mentally for a class. According to Air Force learning professional “Effective studying is an essential component of academic success, as it enables you to absorb and retain information, understand complex concepts, and perform well on assessments and assignments.” Hillgrove has many career electives for students, Some students, However have different opinions on what career they would want to do. Miranda stated, “it could benefit if there's more options open, because maybe not every student wants the same options.” Many students tend to have different career options.

While students have many opportunities for college such as trips, college fair. Another way is dual enrollment. Dual enrollment can help High school students earn college credits. Molly Dunleavy a sophomore at Hillgrove High School stated, “ I feel like dual enrollment can help students who are already advancing in their classes and like give them more of a challenge and help their transcript .” Dual enrollment can let students earn college credits and help students prepare for college. Many schools have a variety on electives to choose from like culinary and JROTC. Molly stated, “I would be interested in cosmetology. I'm in culinary, and I'm interested in it, and I think that's about it for me personally.

Hillgrove provides many options for lunch because some students prefer different options than other food. According to letters2president.org “The school lunches need variety because every day there is the same food repeatedly. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, and pizza are served every day in two out of the three lines, but instead should be replaced with healthier options.” Having many options can help students focus more. Brizeyda a sophomore at Hillgrove High School stated, “people have different appetites “. many students tend prefer different options for lunch.  While lunch can help students concentrate more, Typically, students use a form a technology such as computers, tablets, and laptops. Brizeyda stated, “as students and with the type of computers we use I say we could definitely use an upgrade.” Some schools provide school loaned laptops and sometimes they aren’t the best. Most schools are very good and provide many opportunities for their students.
