Bad Bunny is one of the top streamed artists of the year. After his release of the album DTMF, he skyrocketed on the charts. Throughout the year, Bad Bunny has made it a goal to promote Puerto Rico and put it out there to be there for his community. Jay-Z announced him as the super bowl performer.

Dr. McClure, a teacher Hillgrove High School, gives her input on the choice of Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl halftime show. "I think hes very popular right now, which is nice. Sometimes they pick people who haven't been popular in like 20 years. So I think its really nice that hes popular right now. I think he was like reaching a segment and its just a great opportunity to expose his culture." The Billboard website states, “The artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio has had another monster year: After releasing his sixth solo album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, in January — which topped the Billboard 200, becoming his fourth No. 1 on the chart, and saw each of its 17 songs reach the Billboard Hot 100” DTMF being such a big album throughout the year proves how deserving he is of this opportunity.

Bad Bunny is well known for the love and appreciation of his birthplace, Puerto Rico, and for other Hispanics around the world. Zabdiel Sierra, a student attending Hillgrove High School, shares his thoughts on the upcoming Super Bowl halftime. "Uhh it makes me feel great because he represents mostly Hispanic people." Many are appreciative of the choice of this artist because of his inclusion of all people especially those of Hispanic heritage, which he made a statement about in an article on the Elle website, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement, “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. .” 

Bad Bunny has so much love for his culture and heritage and will be sure to share it with the rest of the world when performing at the upcoming half time show. Bad Bunny is such an energetic and stage based artist and was a new and refreshing choice, bringing fun and joy to the sports event.
