At Hillgrove High School, we have a diverse group of students who watch anime. The demon slayer movie is one thing that was talked about a lot in this diverse group. According to Hillgrove Junior Jenifer Horas, she says, “Overall, I think it was really good because the quality topped the entire series, and I really liked it because it didn’t jam everything in one movie but separated everything into other movies.” The movie is going to be split up into 3 movies, and this movie was only part one, and there's more to come. The fight scenes in the movie are what really gravitated the fans. Highgrove High School senior Noel Kellman says, “The fights exceeded. I started crying; that’s how good they were. But the movie in general was way too long.” Even though the movie was 2 hours long, it builds incredible tension for the next movie. Hillgrove Senior Makayla Evans says that “I feel like this movie builds a lot of tension because it was all the main characters fighting and not side characters fighting the main. So, you didn’t know who was going to live or die.” Yes, In the movie, there were tons of deaths and partings that fans had to deal with. Along with that came the interesting backstories. Junior Jenifer Horas says, “ Zentius' backstory, because he tries to be a better person, not for himself but for his master, and I feel like he had great personal growth. I think his past was sad.” Another sad backstory was Akasa, where he had a memory of his fiancée. Jenifer also adds, "When Akasa remembered his future fiancées because she was killed and poisoned by others. When she appeared in his vision, it was really sad because she gave up her heaven to be in hell with him.” Akasa was the backstory that fans feel was the worst in the whole anime.
